Psychosocial recovery coaches are a relatively new support available under the NDIS. As disability service provider Adroit Outcomes is proud to provide services related to psychological recovery of an Individual.
What does a recovery coach do?
Recovery coaches work with individuals with psychosocial disability to:
- Develop a recovery-enabling relationship
- Increase awareness of choice and control
- Identify individual goals and develop strategies to achieve them
- Provide ongoing support and engagement (even in times of increased needs due to variation in individual mental illness)
- Build individual capacity, increase recovery skills, resilience and decision making.
Recovery coaching is different from support coordination
Support co-ordinator’s primary focus is in capacity building and working with individual to get most out of the NDIS plan while Psychosocial recovery coaches are specifically assigned to individuals who have primary diagnosis of psychosocial disability.
At Adroit outcomes, recovery coaches offer hands-on approach, using their specific knowledge of mental health services to ensure individuals receive best support to achieve their goals.
